Join the IACME in celebrating Medicolegal Death Investigation Professionals Week from January 19-25, 2025! Medicolegal Death Investigation Professionals Week is a designated period to honor and recognize the vital contributions of professionals and allies who investigate deaths. These experts, including medicolegal death investigators, coroners, medical examiners, forensic pathologists, forensic autopsy technicians, administrative staff, and others, play an essential role in public health and safety in our communities. In January 2024, the United States Senate passed Resolution 532: A resolution recognizing and supporting the goals and ideals of the National Medicolegal Death Investigation Professionals Week. Multiple states and local governments issued proclamations to honor medicolegal professionals also, with more information below.
